Answer:
You’re talking about a story that is now, what, five, six years old?
There are no plans to go back to any of this at the moment.
Move on. Live your life.
Tom Braveoort is editor of Marvel Comics and he’s telling a fan “live your life” or essentially “get a life” because the fan has an issue with the way Marvel Comics decided to have Spider-man sell his marriage to Mary Jane Watson to the Demon Mephisto.
Now let me be clear, there are types of fandom that are obsessive and creepy. There are bigger issues in life other than what a comic book character does and this has to be kept in perspective but all that said, Mr. Braveoort was way out of line.
This fan asked a legitimate question in a polite way and was essentially attacked for caring about Spider-man and the way he was portrayed by Marvel. Yet Marvel needs people to care about their characters.
It needs people to like Spidey, Captain America, Iron Man, and the Avengers enough to want to buy their T-shirts and video games, to pick up not only comics but complete guides to the Marvel Universe, and all the merchandising Marvel does. They need people who spend big and go to trade shows and comic cons.
The day fans stop caring about Marvel’s characters is the day Marvel shutters its doors forever. Anonymous is “living his life.” It’s just a life without new Spider-man comics and he’s far from alone.
